इति ते कथिता संख्या अर्थं चैषां श्रृणु द्विज । अस्मिन्नर्थे चेति हासं तव वक्ष्यामि यः पुरा
iti te kathitā saṃkhyā arthaṃ caiṣāṃ śrṛṇu dvija | asminnarthe ceti hāsaṃ tava vakṣyāmi yaḥ purā
So habe ich dir ihre Zahl genannt; nun höre ihre Bedeutung, o Brahmane. Und eben zu diesem Sinn werde ich dir eine alte, lehrreiche Erzählung berichten, die einst Lachen hervorrief.
