ततः सर्वानपृच्छत्स कुलं कोऽपि न वेद तत् । ततो विष्णुरिदं प्राह पृछ्यंतेऽन्ये किमर्थतः
tataḥ sarvānapṛcchatsa kulaṃ ko'pi na veda tat | tato viṣṇuridaṃ prāha pṛchyaṃte'nye kimarthataḥ
Da befragte er alle nach der Abstammung (des Bräutigams), doch niemand wusste sie. Darauf sprach Viṣṇu: „Warum werden die anderen befragt — wozu?“
