Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 11

त्रैलोक्यदानवान्सर्वान्दग्धुं शक्तः क्षणादहम् । दुर्जस्तारकः किं तु मुक्त्वा सप्तदिनं शिशुम्

Transliteration

trailokyadānavānsarvāndagdhuṃ śaktaḥ kṣaṇādaham | durjastārakaḥ kiṃ tu muktvā saptadinaṃ śiśum

Translation

„Ich vermag in einem Augenblick alle Dānavas der drei Welten zu verbrennen. Doch jener schwer zu bezwingende Tāraka—nachdem er das sieben Tage alte Kind freigelassen hat—bleibt ein Sonderfall.“
