बृहस्पतिरुवाच । सामपूर्वं स्मृता नीतिश्चतुरंगामनीकिनीम् । जिगीषतां सुरश्रेष्ठ स्थितिरेषा सनातनी

Transliteration

bṛhaspatiruvāca | sāmapūrvaṃ smṛtā nītiścaturaṃgāmanīkinīm | jigīṣatāṃ suraśreṣṭha sthitireṣā sanātanī

Translation

Bṛhaspati sprach: „O Bester unter den Göttern, die Staatskunst dessen, der den Sieg begehrt, wird so erinnert, dass sie mit sāma, der Versöhnung, beginnt und auf das viergliedrige Heer angewandt wird. Dies ist die ewige, altehrwürdige Methode für alle, die erobern wollen.“
