Skanda Purana — Kashi Khanda, Shloka 23

रत्नाकरैश्चापि गिरींद्रव्यैर्यथा स्वमन्यैरपि पुण्यधीभिः । संपूजितः कुंभज तत्र शंभुर्नीराजितो मातृगणैरथेशः

ratnākaraiścāpi girīṃdravyairyathā svamanyairapi puṇyadhībhiḥ | saṃpūjitaḥ kuṃbhaja tatra śaṃbhurnīrājito mātṛgaṇairatheśaḥ

O Kumbhaja, dort wurde Śambhu gebührend verehrt mit Schätzen aus Ozeanen von Juwelen und mit Gaben aus den herrlichen Bergen, ebenso mit anderen Opfergaben, die von Verdienstvollen gebracht wurden. Dann wurde der Herr auch durch nīrājana (ārati) von den Scharen der Mütter (Mātṛgaṇas) geehrt.
