Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī Liṅga-arcana (trikāla)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A Kāśī courtyard shrine with a black stone liṅga being worshipped at three times of day: morning with water and bilva, noon with flowers and incense, evening with lamps; nearby sādhus converse; a devotee repeats ‘Śiva, Śiva’ with raised hands.
Devotion becomes continuous through daily worship, holy company, and constant remembrance of Śiva’s name.
Kāśī (Vārāṇasī) is the contextual sacred field where Śiva-liṅga worship and Śiva-nāma are especially extolled.
Liṅga worship three times daily, liṅga-pratiṣṭhā (establishment), sādhu-saṅga, and chanting ‘Śiva, Śiva’.
