Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaṅkara
Scene: Devī pleads, 'Do not forbid me,' declaring she will go to her father; she bows deeply and places her head upon Śiva’s lotus-feet, emphasizing surrender and tenderness.
Even when pursuing worldly duties, a devotee seeks divine approval and seals the request through surrender at the Lord’s feet.
The narrative sits within the Kāśī Khaṇḍa, implicitly glorifying Kāśī as the place where surrender to Śiva bears immediate grace.
A devotional act is shown: touching/bowing to the Lord’s feet (pāda-vandana), a classic practice of bhakti.
