Skanda
Tirtha: Maṅgalāgaurī (vrata context in Kāśī)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaunaka and sages
Scene: A serene depiction of Maṅgalāgaurī as a benevolent form of Devī, with both women and men offering flowers; in the background, the symbolic ‘broken chain’ of rebirth is suggested by a lotus rising above a womb-like enclosure.
When sin is truly purified through dharma and devotion, the soul is freed from repeated embodied birth.
The teaching occurs within the Kāśī Khaṇḍa context, where Maṅgalāgaurī worship is praised as part of Kāśī’s sacred dharma.
Observance/worship connected with Maṅgalāgaurī, explicitly open to both women and men.
