Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī-kṣetra (contextual)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A triptych-like symbolic scene: three figures representing āśramas (student with staff, forest-dweller, renunciate) with increasing austerity; a moon motif indicates night-time reduced measure; all framed by Kāśī’s ghats.
Dharma adapts discipline to one’s life-stage and circumstance, balancing rigor with practicality.
No specific tīrtha is named; the verse continues the śauca-vidhi instructions within Kāśīkhaṇḍa.
Double the cleansing measure for the three āśramas beginning with brahmacarya; at night, perform half of the daytime-prescribed śauca.
