Transliteration

dama dāna dayā kṣāṃti śauceṃdriya vinigrahāḥ | asteya satyāhiṃsāśca sarveṣāṃ dharmahetavaḥ

Translation

Selbstzucht, Gabe, Mitgefühl, Geduld, Reinheit und Zügelung der Sinne; dazu Nicht-Stehlen, Wahrhaftigkeit und Gewaltlosigkeit — dies sind die Ursachen, die das Dharma für alle tragen.
