yakṣā ūcuḥ | rāmanātheṃdriyārātibādhā no duḥsahā sadā | tānvijetuṃ sahāyastvamasmākaṃ bhava dhūrjaṭe
Tirtha: Rāmanātha at Setu
Type: kshetra
Listener: Rāmanātha addressed as Dhūrjaṭi (Śiva)
Scene: Yakṣas, powerful guardians, kneel before an austere Dhūrjaṭi form of Śiva; around them, personified senses appear as shadowy adversaries; Śiva grants a weapon-like boon—japa-mālā or trident of discernment—to conquer them.
Victory over sense-driven impulses requires both effort and the Lord’s assisting grace.
Rāmanātha at Setu (Rāmeśvaram), approached as the divine ally for inner conquest.
No explicit rite; the focus is on indriya-nigraha (sense-control) through prayer to Śiva.
