Skanda Purana — Brahma Khanda, Shloka 67

इत्येकादशरूपोऽयं शिवः साक्षाद्विभासते । सदा ह्येतेषु लिंगेषु संनिधत्ते महेश्वरः

ityekādaśarūpo'yaṃ śivaḥ sākṣādvibhāsate | sadā hyeteṣu liṃgeṣu saṃnidhatte maheśvaraḥ

So leuchtet Śiva hier wahrhaftig in elf offenbaren Gestalten. Denn Maheśvara weilt immerdar in diesen Liṅgas in lebendiger Gegenwart.

FAQs

Consecrated liṅgas are not mere symbols; the Purāṇa affirms Śiva’s direct and continual presence in them.

Setukṣetra/Rāmeśvaram, presented as a field where Śiva manifests in eleven forms.

The verse supports liṅga-pūjā and tīrtha-yātrā by declaring enduring divine saṃnidhi in the installed liṅgas.
