Skanda Purana — Brahma Khanda, Shloka 36

वैष्णवं धर्ममुत्सज्य वौद्धधर्ममुपागताः । प्रजास्तमनुवर्तिन्यः क्षपणैः प्रतिबोधिताः

vaiṣṇavaṃ dharmamutsajya vauddhadharmamupāgatāḥ | prajāstamanuvartinyaḥ kṣapaṇaiḥ pratibodhitāḥ

Indem sie das vaiṣṇavische Dharma aufgaben, nahmen sie das bauddhische Dharma an; und das Volk folgte ihm, von kṣapaṇas — sektiererischen Entsagern — belehrt und überredet.
