Jeder Mann, der diese Brahmanen verachtet und nicht erscheint, soll mit Tod und Strafe belegt und aus meinem Reich verbannt werden.
Rāma (contextual; royal proclamation)
Scene: A king (Rāma) issues a stern proclamation: anyone who insults or fails to approach the assembled brāhmaṇas will face punishment and exile; courtiers stand tense as the edict is declared.
Society is upheld when the learned and righteous are protected and disrespect toward them is checked.
Dharmāraṇya’s sanctity is defended through strict enforcement of respect toward its brāhmaṇas.
Not a ritual, but a legal-ethical injunction: contempt of brāhmaṇas invites punitive consequences.
