ईश्वर उवाच । वरं वृणीष्व भद्रं ते मनसा यदभीप्सितम् । लोहासुर मया देयं तव नास्ति तपोबलात्
īśvara uvāca | varaṃ vṛṇīṣva bhadraṃ te manasā yadabhīpsitam | lohāsura mayā deyaṃ tava nāsti tapobalāt
Īśvara sprach: „Wähle eine Gabe—sie sei dir heilvoll—was immer dein Sinn begehrt. O Lohāsura, durch die Kraft deiner Askese gibt es nichts, was ich dir nicht gewähren könnte.“
