Scene: At a sacred well, a householder performs tarpaṇa with water and sesame, then conducts śrāddha offerings; the unseen ancestors are shown as subtle satisfied presences; the month is Bhādrapada, near fortnight’s end.

A sacred kūpa (well), contextually the Gaṅgākūpaka near Govatsa, is praised for pitṛ satisfaction.
Tarpaṇa and śrāddha at the well, particularly in Bhādrapada and at the fortnight’s end.
