दानव उवाच । यदि तुष्टोऽसि मे देव वरं दास्यसि मे प्रभो । सङ्ग्रामैस्तु न तुष्टोऽहं बलं नास्तीति किंचन
dānava uvāca | yadi tuṣṭo'si me deva varaṃ dāsyasi me prabho | saṅgrāmaistu na tuṣṭo'haṃ balaṃ nāstīti kiṃcana
Der Dämon sprach: „Wenn Du mit mir zufrieden bist, o Gott—wenn Du mir eine Gabe schenken willst, o Herr—so wisse: Mit Schlachten bin ich nicht zufrieden; nicht etwa, weil es mir an Kraft fehlte.“
