Type: kshetra
Listener: Māṇḍavya
Scene: Close view: the stake passes through the ascetic; sages gather, some with hands raised in alarm, others in añjali; the ascetic’s face is tranquil, eyes half-closed in meditation.
The verse praises ascetic endurance—kṣānti and tapas—where inner steadiness remains even amid extreme bodily pain.
No tīrtha is singled out in this verse; it serves the narrative teaching within the Revā Khaṇḍa milieu.
None; the focus is on tapas (austerity) and the wonder of pain-bearing equanimity.
