Type: ghat
Scene: A devotee, having bathed at the river-ghāṭa, lies peacefully under a tree near the Gopeśvara shrine; subtle divine attendants indicate passage to Śiva’s abode.
The purifying power of a great tīrtha is exalted as capable of overriding even heavy sin, directing the soul toward Śiva.
The same Gopeśvara tīrtha referenced in Adhyāya 162.
Snāna at the tīrtha; the verse then states the promised result at death after such bathing.
