Beginnend mit der heiligen Silbe Oṁ und der rechten Reihenfolge der Namen, die auf „namaḥ“ enden, soll man alle Handlungen der Verehrung vollziehen—freudig und mit höchster Hingabe.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Significance: Emphasizes nāma-krama beginning with Oṃ and ending in namaḥ—portable liturgy usable at any shrine; devotion (bhakti) is presented as the key that draws grace beyond mere external correctness.
Mantra: oṃ ... namaḥ (names in sequence)
Type: stotra
Offering: dipa
It teaches that Shiva-worship becomes spiritually fruitful when mantra and action are done in the right sequence and, above all, with parā-bhakti (supreme devotion) and inner joy—turning ritual into a direct offering to Pati (Lord Shiva).
The verse emphasizes nāma-upāsanā—worship through Shiva’s names—used alongside Linga-pūjā. By beginning with Oṁ and offering salutations (namaḥ), the devotee approaches Saguna Shiva reverentially, while the mantra also points the mind toward the transcendent (Nirguna) reality behind the form.
Perform Shiva-pūjā and japa using ordered Shiva-nāmas that conclude with “namaḥ”, beginning with Oṁ—practicing steady, joyful repetition with wholehearted devotion (bhakti) as the essential discipline.
