(Praise of the Śiva Purāṇa) / Śivapurāṇa Māhātmya
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
The verse declares the unique revelatory power of the Śiva Purāṇa: when it manifests, it becomes the decisive scripture that clarifies Shiva-tattva (Pati) and the path of liberation, surpassing general praise found in other Purāṇas.
By affirming the Śiva Purāṇa’s special emergence, it points the seeker toward Śiva-upāsanā as taught here—especially Saguna worship through the Liṅga as the accessible, grace-filled focus through which the Nirguṇa truth is realized.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa (devotional listening/recitation) of the Śiva Purāṇa alongside steady Śiva-nāma japa—especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a direct means to awaken devotion and purify bondage.
