Bondage and Liberation: The Prakṛti–Karma Wheel and Śiva as the Transcendent Cause
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Internalization of Śiva’s aiśvarya (lordly qualities such as omniscience) is presented as the fruit of grace; pilgrimage analogue is the ‘inner kṣetra’ where Śiva is realized as the Self.
It teaches that through Shiva-oriented inner practice, Shiva’s own qualities—especially illuminating knowledge—manifest naturally, and the aspirant abides radiantly in the Self by Shiva’s grace.
Linga/Saguna worship steadies the mind in Shiva; when devotion matures into inward absorption, the ‘mental sovereignty’ of Shiva arises, culminating in Shiva’s grace-bestowed knowledge and inner radiance.
Manasa-puja (inner worship) supported by japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady dhyana on the Linga-form of Shiva, allowing effortless inward absorption.
