Exposition of the Principle of Śakti
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It highlights Shiva’s anugraha (grace): even those lacking qualification are uplifted when devotion awakens, because Parameśvara removes the devotee’s inner malas (impurities) that obstruct right knowledge and liberation.
Linga/Saguna worship trains the mind in surrender and steadiness; through such bhakti, Shiva becomes prasanna (gracious) and purifies the devotee, making them fit for deeper realization of Shiva beyond form.
Sincere bhakti supported by japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and purity disciplines (e.g., Tripuṇḍra bhasma and Rudrāksha with right conduct) is implied as the means by which impurities are removed through Shiva’s grace.
