Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva’s yogic doctrine as taught in the Vāyavīyasaṃhitā)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It points to a yogic marker of inner purification: as prāṇa becomes steady under disciplined control, gross bodily eliminations diminish, indicating increasing subtlety of the body-mind and readiness for deeper Shaiva contemplation of Pati (Shiva).
In the Vāyu Saṃhitā, outer worship supports inner transformation; prāṇa-mastery stabilizes attention so the devotee can perform Linga-dhyāna and Saguna Shiva upāsanā with one-pointedness, turning ritual devotion into sustained inner absorption.
It suggests regulated prāṇāyāma and disciplined yogic living (mitāhāra, purity, steady breath), treating reduced bodily waste as an observed sign of progress rather than a goal, while maintaining Shiva-oriented meditation and mantra-japa.
