FAQs

It teaches that sincere śaraṇāgati (taking refuge) in Pati—Lord Śiva—cuts through pasha (bondage) such as fear, disease, and even the terror of death; the devotee is protected and led toward liberation by Śiva’s anugraha (grace).

The verse points to practical refuge in Saguna Śiva—worshipped as the Śiva-liṅga—through remembrance, devotion, and ritual approach; through this accessible form, the devotee connects to the transcendent Lord who grants fearlessness and release.

Steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with liṅga-pūjā—optionally wearing rudrākṣa and applying tripuṇḍra (bhasma)—is implied as the refuge-practice that dispels danger and anchors the mind in Śiva.
