पञ्चावरणमार्गस्थं योगेश्वरस्तोत्रम्
Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
विरूपाश्च सुरूपाश्च नानारूपधरास्तथा । सत्कृत्य शिवयोराज्ञां ते मे कामं दिशंतु वै
virūpāśca surūpāśca nānārūpadharāstathā | satkṛtya śivayorājñāṃ te me kāmaṃ diśaṃtu vai
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīya discourse to the sages, with the verse voiced as a prayer within the narration)

Type: stotra
It emphasizes that grace and accomplishment arise when one honors Shiva’s command; outer differences of form are secondary to alignment with Shiva’s divine ordinance, through which boons are rightfully granted.
In Saguna worship, the devotee approaches Shiva as the sovereign Lord whose ājñā governs all beings; the verse reflects seeking results not by coercion but by reverently aligning one’s prayer with Shiva’s will—central to Linga-bhakti and temple worship.
A practical takeaway is sankalpa with surrender: offer worship (pūjā) to Shiva—often with Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—and then request only what accords with Shiva’s command, cultivating humility and devotion.
