पञ्चावरणमार्गस्थं योगेश्वरस्तोत्रम्
Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
तस्या एव नियोगेन सा मे दिशतु कांक्षितम् । कौशिकी सिंहमारूढा पार्वत्याः परमा सुता
tasyā eva niyogena sā me diśatu kāṃkṣitam | kauśikī siṃhamārūḍhā pārvatyāḥ paramā sutā
Durch ihren eigenen Befehl möge sie mir das Ersehnte gewähren—Kauśikī, auf einem Löwen reitend, die erhabenste Tochter Pārvatīs.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vayu Samhita discourse to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Kālī
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
The verse highlights grace (anugraha) as the decisive factor: the devotee seeks fulfillment through the Goddess’s command and compassion, reflecting Shaiva Siddhanta’s emphasis that liberation and attainments arise by divine bestowal rather than egoic effort.
Kauśikī is presented as Pārvatī’s supreme power (Śakti). In Saguna worship, devotion to Shiva is inseparable from reverence to Śakti; Linga worship is thus complemented by honoring the dynamic, boon-giving power through which Shiva’s grace becomes accessible to devotees.
A practical takeaway is prayerful surrender and petition (praṇāma with saṅkalpa) to Shiva-Shakti—such as japa of the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with bhakti—seeking alignment with divine will before asking for any boon.
