Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
satkṛtya śivayorājñāṃ te me kāmaṃ prayacchatām | vāmau jyeṣṭhastathā rudraḥ kālo vikaraṇastathā
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vayu Samhita dialogue to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Type: stotra
The verse highlights that divine grace (anugraha) flows when one reverently accepts Śiva’s injunction; the many Rudra-names indicate Saguna manifestations of the one Pati (Śiva) who fulfills the devotee’s rightful spiritual aim.
Invoking Rudra-forms is a Saguna approach—worshipping Śiva with names and aspects. In Linga worship, these names function as epithets of the same Supreme Śiva established in the Linga, making remembrance (nāma-smaraṇa) and arcana complementary.
A practical takeaway is nāma-japa: recite Śiva’s names (including these Rudra forms) along with the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and offer bilva leaves or vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) as a sign of honoring Śiva’s command.
