It praises the Divine Mother as the universal bestower of grace and portrays Gaṇeśa and Kārttikeya as her and Śiva’s beloved divine powers—removing obstacles and strengthening spiritual pursuit on the path to Śiva.
In Saguna worship, devotion to Śiva naturally includes reverence to Śakti (the Mother) and honoring Śiva’s household deities—especially Gaṇeśa and Skanda—who are approached as compassionate aids in Linga worship and Shaiva vows.
Begin Shaiva worship with an invocation to the Mother and Gaṇeśa for the removal of obstacles, then proceed with Linga-pūjā using the Pañcākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with steady bhakti and purity of intention.
