Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva
Suta Goswami (narrating the prescribed procedure while addressing the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that worship is not only mantra and offering, but also humility: after japa and dedication, the devotee seeks Īśa’s forgiveness for inevitable ritual imperfections, aligning the heart with Shiva’s grace (anugraha) central to Shaiva Siddhanta.
The verse reflects Saguna-Shiva worship through structured pūjā—mantra-japa, samarpana (offering), and proper conclusion—directed to Īśa as the accessible Lord who receives devotion through the Linga and grants purification through forgiveness.
It prescribes mantra-japa (Śakti-vidyā), offering the fruit of the recitation to Shiva (samarpana), and kṣamā-prārthanā (asking forgiveness) before formally completing the remaining steps of the pūjā.
