So soll man, nachdem die Verehrung vollendet ist und man sich vor dem Herrn und der Göttin verneigt hat, den Geist in Hingabe und innerer Sammlung festigen und danach den Lobeshymnus vortragen.
Suta Goswami (narrating the prescribed method of worship to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Significance: Models the orthodox closure of pūjā: praṇāma to Śiva and Devī, mental recollection (samādhāna), then stotra—seen as a grace-invoking completion (anugraha).
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that outer ritual (pūjā) should culminate in inner devotion—bowing in humility and steadying the mind—so praise becomes a concentrated offering that refines the soul’s bond with Pati (Śiva) and loosens pasha (bondage).
It outlines the liturgical sequence common to Saguna worship: after completing the formal offerings to Śiva (often as the Liṅga) together with Devī, the devotee performs praṇāma and then recites a stotra, transforming ritual action into contemplative devotion.
After pūjā, perform praṇāma, then practice brief mental composure (manas-samādhāna/one-pointedness) and recite a Śiva-stotra with bhakti; the emphasis is on steady attention rather than additional materials like bhasma or rudrākṣa in this specific verse.
