It teaches that devotion to Pati (Lord Shiva) is strengthened by niyama—disciplined, orderly worship—where outer arrangements (enclosures and directions) support inner concentration and reverence.
Āvaraṇa-pūjā is a Saguna method: the Linga is worshipped along with its attendant circles/enclosures in a prescribed sequence, helping the mind approach Shiva steadily from the outer order to the inner presence.
Perform enclosure-based, direction-oriented worship (starting from the east) with a consistent sequence; accompany it with mantra-japa such as the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to maintain focused remembrance during the steps.
