Purification of the Worship-Space and Preparation of Ritual Vessels
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Contemplation of the beginningless, sense-transcendent Lord is presented as the true remedy for saṃsāra; the implied fruit is release from bhava-roga (bondage and rebirth).
Role: liberating
It declares Shiva as agocara (beyond sensory grasp) and as the timeless Pati whose grace alone cures the core affliction—attachment to saṃsāra—leading the pashu toward liberation.
Though Shiva is described as beyond perception, the Linga functions as a sacred support for devotion and contemplation, guiding the seeker from saguna worship toward realization of the nirguna, beginningless Reality.
Meditate on Shiva as beginningless, middleless, and endless while repeating the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), treating the mantra as the inner medicine for the ‘bhava-roga’ of worldly bondage.
