It teaches that outer cleansing becomes spiritually effective when joined with mantra—purifying the embodied soul (paśu) and loosening impurity (mala) before approaching Pati, Lord Śiva, in worship.
Mantra-sanctified water and ablution are preparatory rites that make the devotee fit to perform Linga-sevā and abhiṣeka with focused devotion, honoring Śiva’s gracious, worshipful (saguṇa) accessibility.
Perform a mantra-bath: consecrate water with Śiva mantras (such as the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and pour/sprinkle it during bathing or before pūjā as a disciplined purification practice.
