Maṇḍala–Pūjā–Homa Krama
Maṇḍala Worship and Homa Sequence for the Disciple
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
Offering: pushpa
It teaches disciplined worship: elevating consciousness by placing Pati (Shiva) at the crown (śiras) and completing the rite with reverence, showing that devotion must be joined with proper closure and inner surrender.
The verse reflects Saguna-upāsanā procedure: after worship (abhyarcana) of Shiva—often through the Linga and mantra—one bows and performs visarjana, acknowledging the invoked presence and returning the mind to steadiness without ritual agitation.
It suggests a meditative nyāsa-like act of contemplating Shiva at the crown (śiro-nyāsa), worshipping the mantra-source as Vāgīśa, then offering namaskāra and performing formal visarjana to conclude japa/puja with clarity.
