श्रद्धामाहात्म्यं तथा देवीप्रश्नः

The Greatness of Śraddhā and Devī’s Question to Śiva

ममावतारा हि शुभे योगाचार्यच्छलेन तु । सर्वांतरेषु सन्त्यार्ये संततिश्च सहस्रशः । अयुक्तानामबुद्धीनामभक्तानां सुरेश्वरि । दुर्लभं संततिज्ञानं ततो यत्नात्समाश्रयेत्

mamāvatārā hi śubhe yogācāryacchalena tu | sarvāṃtareṣu santyārye saṃtatiśca sahasraśaḥ | ayuktānāmabuddhīnāmabhaktānāṃ sureśvari | durlabhaṃ saṃtatijñānaṃ tato yatnātsamāśrayet

O glückverheißende Göttin, Meine Herabkünfte geschehen wahrlich unter dem Vorwand eines Yoga-Lehrers; und in jedem Zeitalter, o Edle, gibt es tausendfach und abertausendfach solche geistigen Überlieferungslinien. Doch für die Ungezähmten, die Unverständigen und die ohne Bhakti—o Herrin der Devas—ist wahres Wissen um die authentische Linie schwer zu erlangen; darum soll man mit ernsthaftem Bemühen bei ihr Zuflucht nehmen.
