The Supreme Lord as the Uncaused Cause

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: liberating
Cosmic Event: Soteriological turning-point: at the ‘end’ of bondage, viśva-māyā withdraws—anugraha overcoming tirodhāna for the paśu.
It teaches the Shaiva Siddhanta movement from paśu (bound soul) toward Śiva-realization: sustained contemplation of Pati (Śiva) purifies the mind into sattva and brings the withdrawal of māyā at the threshold of liberation.
Meditation on Śiva can begin with saguna supports—such as the Śiva-liṅga, mantra, and form—until the soul becomes 'yoked' to Him; as realization matures, māyā’s hold loosens and the seeker approaches direct experience of Śiva beyond limitation.
A practical takeaway is daily Śiva-dhyāna with mantra-japa (especially the Pañcākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), cultivating sattva through purity and steadiness so that māyā’s veiling power gradually recedes.
