तदासौ विधिमा नम्य स्वाभिप्रायं कृतांजलिः । न्यवेदयद्विनीतात्मा ब्रह्मणे परमात्मने
tadāsau vidhimā namya svābhiprāyaṃ kṛtāṃjaliḥ | nyavedayadvinītātmā brahmaṇe paramātmane

It highlights vinaya (humility) and śaraṇāgati (reverent surrender): the seeker approaches divine authority with añjali, offering one’s intention without ego—an essential Shaiva disposition for receiving grace.
Even when approaching a manifest divine form (Saguna worship), the inner posture is the same—bowing, folded hands, and truthful self-offering—through which devotion becomes fit to receive Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
Practice namaskāra with kṛtāñjali before puja or japa, mentally stating your sankalpa with humility; let the attitude of surrender accompany mantra recitation (such as the Panchakshara).
