Śiva–Arjuna Yuddha and the Subjugation of Pride (Śiva-parīkṣā)

It highlights the Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on Śiva’s anugraha (grace): the Lord’s compassion turns toward the devotee, while the devotee’s steadfastness and sincere effort continue without wavering.
Śiva is portrayed in a personal, responsive (saguṇa) mode—He moves toward the devotee out of mercy. This supports Linga and personal-form worship where the Lord is approached through devotion and He, in turn, bestows grace.
The takeaway is steadiness (dṛḍhatā) in practice: daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” performed with unwavering focus, trusting in Śiva’s compassion to meet the aspirant.
