Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: Maps a classic Siddhānta/Purāṇic liberation ladder: Śiva’s grace grants sārūpya (likeness), then transcendent mokṣa—encouraging devotees to seek anugraha rather than mere worldly boons.
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
It teaches that liberation is ultimately granted through Śiva’s anugraha (grace): the devotee first attains sārūpya—nearness and likeness to Mahādeva’s divine state—and, after experiencing the fruits of that elevated state, reaches final mokṣa.
Sārūpya is commonly presented as a fruit of saguna-upāsanā—devotion to Śiva with form, often centered on the Śiva-liṅga. Through steady worship and surrender, Śambhu’s grace matures the devotee from enjoying divine proximity to attaining liberation.
The verse emphasizes grace-born attainment; a practical takeaway is consistent Śiva-bhakti such as daily liṅga-pūjā with the Pañcākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), coupled with humble surrender seeking Śambhu’s anugraha.
