नभगोपाख्यानम्

Nabhaga-Upākhyāna: The Account of Nabhaga and Shiva-Jñāna

समाप्ते कर्मणि ततो विप्रा आंगिरसाश्च ते । तस्मै दत्त्वा ययुः स्वर्गं स्वंस्वं सत्रावशेषितम्

samāpte karmaṇi tato viprā āṃgirasāśca te | tasmai dattvā yayuḥ svargaṃ svaṃsvaṃ satrāvaśeṣitam

Als das Ritual vollendet war, zogen jene brāhmaṇa-Weisen aus der Āṅgirasa-Linie, nachdem sie ihm die verbleibenden Anteile ihrer Opfer-Sitzung (satra) dargebracht hatten, gen Himmel davon—ein jeder in die von ihm erlangte Welt. Aus śaivischer Sicht betont der Vers: rechtmäßig abgeschlossenes Karma, in rechter Ordnung und mit Ehrfurcht dargebracht, führt zu höheren Welten; doch die endgültige Befreiung wird durch Hingabe an Pati (Śiva) erlangt, jenseits ritueller Vergeltung.
