इति नाम ददौ तस्मै देयमेकादशेऽहनि । नामकर्मविधानेन तदर्थश्रुतिमुच्चरन्
iti nāma dadau tasmai deyamekādaśe'hani | nāmakarmavidhānena tadarthaśrutimuccaran
So verlieh er dem Kind einen Namen, der am elften Tage gegeben werden sollte. Nach der vorgeschriebenen Nāma-karma-Zeremonie sprach er die heilige Formel aus, welche Sinn und Absicht dieses Namens kundtut.

The verse emphasizes that a child’s identity is ritually anchored in dharma through nāma-karma, where speech sanctified by śruti aligns worldly life with a Shaiva orientation toward auspiciousness and eventual liberation.
By prescribing śruti-backed naming, the Purana shows how Saguna devotion is woven into daily life—names and rites become vehicles for remembering Shiva’s auspicious presence, much like Linga-worship makes the formless Lord approachable through sacred form.
It points to performing nāma-karma on the eleventh day with proper mantra/śruti recitation; as a Shaiva takeaway, one may also keep the child’s name and daily remembrance aligned with Shiva-bhakti (e.g., regular japa of Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
