Suta Goswami (traditional Purāṇic colophon context, concluding the chapter narration to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Sthala Purana: Colophon marking the completion of the chapter ‘Tripuramohana’ within Yuddhakhaṇḍa; it signals the narrative unit about Śiva’s strategy of delusion leading toward Tripura’s downfall.
This is a colophon that seals the chapter’s teaching: Śiva’s “mohana” (deluding power) is a divine upāya (means) by which adharma is restrained and the cosmic order is restored, ultimately guiding beings toward liberation under Pati (Śiva).
By naming the chapter “Tripuramohana,” it points to Śiva’s saguna līlā—His active governance of the world through grace and corrective power. Such narratives support devotional worship of Śiva/Śivaliṅga as the Lord who protects dharma and grants mokṣa.
As a chapter-ending marker, it primarily suggests śravaṇa and manana (listening and reflecting) on Śiva’s līlā; devotees commonly pair such study with pañcākṣarī-japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and liṅga-pūjā to internalize Śiva as Pati, the liberator.
