शुक्रस्य जठरस्थत्वं तथा मृत्युशमनी-विद्या (Śukra in Śiva’s belly and the death-subduing vidyā)
दुस्सहं कणधूमं वै पीत्वा वर्षसहस्रकम् । विद्येयमीश्वरात्प्राप्ता बंधूनां सुखदा सदा
dussahaṃ kaṇadhūmaṃ vai pītvā varṣasahasrakam | vidyeyamīśvarātprāptā baṃdhūnāṃ sukhadā sadā
Nachdem ich tausend Jahre lang den unerträglichen Rauch der Spreu ertragen und eingeatmet hatte, wurde diese heilige Vidyā vom Herrn (Īśvara) erlangt; sie ist stets eine Spenderin von Glück für die Verwandten.

It teaches that extraordinary tapas (endurance beyond comfort) becomes fruitful only when crowned by Īśvara’s grace—true vidyā is ultimately “received from Shiva,” and its merit naturally radiates outward as welfare for one’s family and community.
By naming Īśvara as the giver of vidyā, the verse aligns with Saguna Shiva worship—devotion and disciplined practice directed to the Lord (often through Linga-upāsanā) culminate in Shiva’s bestowal of empowering knowledge rather than mere self-achievement.
The emphasis is on sustained tapas and mantra-vidyā received through Shiva’s favor; in practice this points to disciplined japa (especially Panchākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), purity, and Shaiva observances that convert personal sādhanā into blessings for one’s household.
