Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the Yuddhakhaṇḍa episode to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Role: liberating
The verse presents “vidyā-phala” (the true outcome of sacred knowledge) as kṛpā—compassion and restraint—showing that Shaiva power is perfected when it protects life and aligns action with dharma, not mere domination.
The Pramathas represent Saguna Shiva’s active grace in the world—His gaṇas enact protection and mercy. Linga-worship in the Purana is repeatedly linked to inner purification where strength becomes an instrument of anugraha (benevolent grace).
A practical takeaway is to pair mantra-japa (especially Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a vow of ahiṁsā and kṣamā (forgiveness), letting spiritual discipline mature into compassion—the hallmark fruit of Shaiva sādhanā.
