FAQs

It depicts the decisive fall of egoic, violent opposition in the face of divinely upheld dharma—reminding the seeker that when Pati (Śiva’s lordly principle) prevails, the forces that bind and terrify the soul are ultimately cut down.

Though the verse is martial in imagery, it supports Saguna devotion: the devotee contemplates Shiva’s protective, world-ordering power, and through Linga-worship internalizes that the Supreme can manifest as an active guardian who removes obstacles to righteousness.

Take refuge in japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and mentally offer fear and aggression into Shiva’s presence; if following household practice, accompany japa with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) remembrance as a sign of surrender and dispassion.
