देवस्तुतिः (Devastuti) — Hymn/Praise of the Devas

नमस्ते भूतपतये महाभारसहिष्णवे । तृष्णाहराय निर्वैराकृतये भूरितेजसे

namaste bhūtapataye mahābhārasahiṣṇave | tṛṣṇāharāya nirvairākṛtaye bhūritejase

The verse praises Śiva as Pati (Lord) who bears the cosmic burden, and as the remover of tṛṣṇā (craving). In a Śaiva Siddhānta lens, it points to Śiva’s grace dissolving bondage rooted in desire and leading the soul toward liberation.

These epithets are Saguna praises—devotees approach Śiva through name, form, and qualities (nirvaira, bhūritejas). In Liṅga worship, such nāma-guṇa stuti purifies the mind, making it fit to receive Śiva’s anugraha (grace).

Use this as a short stuti before japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), praying specifically for tṛṣṇā-kṣaya (reduction of craving). It also fits as an opening invocation during Mahāśivarātri vrata, with bhasma and rudrākṣa worn in a sattvic, non-hostile (nirvaira) attitude.
