Shiva Purana — Rudra Samhita, Shloka 30

कैलासगमनं कुबेरसख्यं च — Śiva’s Journey to Kailāsa and His Friendship with Kubera

FAQs

The verse highlights how worldly perception can misjudge sacred developments as mere childishness, while the deeper Shaiva view recognizes dīkṣā as a real inner qualification—an awakening of fitness for Shiva’s path and grace.

In Saguna Shiva worship, outer actions may look ordinary or even trivial to observers, but when aligned with proper consecration and devotion, they become sanctified acts leading the devotee toward Shiva’s presence, often centered on Linga-upāsanā and disciplined observance.

The implied takeaway is the importance of dīkṣā (formal consecration/commitment) and then steady sādhana—regular japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and disciplined worship performed with right intent rather than concern for public opinion.
