Es gibt viele heilige Namen, die sowohl weltlichen Genuss als auch Befreiung verleihen. O Pārvatī, diese Namen entsprechen zumeist den Eigenschaften und Taten des Herrn.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Sthala Purana: Not a site narrative; it explains the soteriological function of divine names—granting bhukti (worldly fruition) and mukti (liberation)—and that names correspond to guṇa and karma (attributes and acts).
Significance: Frames nāma-upāsanā as a complete sādhana: names can yield both artha/kāma (bhukti) and final release (mukti) when aligned with right understanding and devotion.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
The verse teaches that Shiva’s many divine names are not arbitrary; they reveal His functions and qualities, and sincere remembrance of these names can lead to both bhukti (rightly ordered worldly welfare) and mukti (liberation) in a Shaiva Siddhanta sense.
It supports Saguna worship: devotees approach Shiva through name-and-form as expressed in His qualities and deeds, which is harmonized with Linga worship where the one Lord is adored through sacred designations and attributes.
A practical takeaway is nāma-japa—repetition of Shiva’s names (especially with the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with devotion and purity of conduct, seeking both dharmic well-being and ultimate liberation.
