(Sandhyā-caritra-varṇana) — “Account of Sandhyā’s Story”
Tattva Level: pashu
Significance: Emphasizes darśana-māhātmya: mere sight of a realized being/Śiva-bhakta is portrayed as spiritually efficacious, foreshadowing grace (anugraha).
Role: teaching
The verse highlights the Shaiva principle of anugraha: Shiva’s mere darśana (vision) can become a direct cause for inner fulfillment and spiritual success, because the Lord is the bestower of grace that removes bondage.
It reflects the Saguna approach central to the Purana: encountering Shiva in a perceivable form (darśana) is itself spiritually transformative, akin to approaching the Liṅga for direct presence, blessing, and purification.
The practical takeaway is darśana-centered bhakti: seek Shiva’s presence through temple darśan of the Liṅga, coupled with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating reverence and receptivity to grace.
